Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory Forever!
Dear Clergy, Religious and Faithful,

In November of 2017 our Eparchy began a stewardship process aimed at answering the question of how Sacraments and Catechesis will be provided in our Eparchy in the future. Stage 1 of this process involved parishes and missions examining their situation and plans for the next 15 years. Stage 2 of this process involved sharing the results of Stage 1 with all other parishes and missions in their pastoral district and together formulating a pastoral care plan for their district.
In March of 2019 we begin Stage 3 of the stewardship process. This stage calls all pastoral districts of a given deanery to meet together and share the results of Stage 2 (D-5 Forums) with each other. This stage is intended to further an understanding of the situation we are facing and to begin a discussion on how best we can answer the question of how Sacraments and Catechesis are to be provided in our deaneries. The Deans of each Deanery have selected the following dates and locations for the deanery meetings in our Eparchy.

Date Deanery Location Time
Saturday, March 9, 2019 Yorkton St. Mary’s Yorkton 155 Catherine St. 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Saturday, March 16, 2019 Regina St. Athanasius 55 McMurchy Ave 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Saturday, March 23, 2019 PA/Saskatoon Holy Dormition 120- 105St. W S’toon 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
The agenda for these meetings will be as follows.
1. Opening Prayer
2. Welcoming Remarks – Bishop Bryan Bayda
3. Deanery Statistics – Nestor Halaisto
4. Presentation of Pastoral Districts (D -5 Forms) – Pastor and District Council President
5. “Live Longer” Presentation – Father Ivan Nahachewsky
6. Discussion

I invite all faithful to attend the meeting held in their Deanery. I am requesting that at the very least pastors ensure that the entire executive of each pastoral district, 2 representatives of each parish or mission council, a representative of churches which have closed or no longer hold services and a representative of any cemetery committee not associated with a functioning parish or mission attend this meeting. Objective: No parishioner should be uninformed about the future of their church.
Your participation in this process is important. The consultors and I will be making important decisions about how the Sacraments and Catechesis will be provided in the future. Your input will help us make better decisions. Your understanding will make the implementation of these decisions easier.

In Christ,

+Most Rev. Bryan J. Bayda, C.Ss.R.

Eparch of Saskatoon
